Tertiary and Industry Events for 2023
Our aim is to provide first-hand experience and up to date information to students, parents and whānau. Opportunities to look around campuses and companies, find out about support services, talk to staff and to find out what it is like to study at their campus, or to work in a particular industry. Some events are to be registered online through the links provided. Some events require permission from parents and teachers for students to attend as they are during school hours. We would like to draw your attention to our very own Careers, NCEA and Subject Evening on Thursday 27 July from 6-8pm – more details to come but please save this date. |

Eastern Careers Schools Expo | 28 and 29 June 2023 at the Howick Leisure Centre
Explore Employment and Career opportunities. Speak to universities and training providers about career options for you. Meet employers at the Education to Employment booth upstairs and discover job opportunities. Attend workshops on effective job searching and financial management at the Eastern Careers School Expo. Participating Schools: Sancta Maria College, Botany Downs College, Elim Christian College, Howick College, Macleans College, Pakuranga College St Kentigern College, Edgewater College. Talk to employers, universities and training providers about new jobs and opportunities. Vocational pathways, apprenticeships, internships and work experience will be available for you to explore. Year 11 and 12 students will attend on Thursday 29 June from 11.30am-1.30pm. |

School’s Career, NCEA & Subject Evening | Thursday 27 July from 6-8pm
On Thursday 27 July we will be having a Careers, NCEA and Subject Evening at school from 6-8pm. This is a chance for parents, students (of Year 10 and above) and whānau to meet our Heads of Departments, hear about NCEA and listen to ex-students talk about their career pathway since leaving school. This year, this evening will replace our traditional careers expo. Parents and students will be able to book into sessions to hear about ex-students career pathways. You will be able to book into three sessions lasting half an hour each. More details to follow.
