It is with great sadness that we farewell Associate Principal and current Acting Principal, Ray Green, at the end of the school year.
A superb senior leader at the College since 2016, Ray has been responsible for many significant initiatives during his tenure. Of particular note is his leadership of our staff professional learning programme. Staff and students alike will miss Ray’s superb oratory skills and terrific sense of humour. He is often seen out and about on our campus, connecting with students and parents. On Athletics Day this year, he was unforgettable (and hilarious) representing Akaroa as Felonious Gru Sr. Ray has been an outstanding leader in our school, especially in his role as Acting Principal in 2025.
Mr Green will be sorely missed by our school community as he moves on to new opportunities. Students honoured his incredible contribution to our kura on the final day of school with a haka performed by all junior students. It was a spine-tingling moment and one that will remain a cherished memory for him.
As he navigates new horizons, we know that faith will always be his compass.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
We wish Mr Green, and his whānau, blessings and aroha on their new journey.
