Howick Youth Committee Young Leaders Summit
This was an amazing opportunity for some of our students in Years 9 – 10 to develop their leadership skills, connect with other young leaders, and grow their confidence. In particular, Jayden Chen was selected to be an intern for the Howick Youth Council, as he was a standout on the day and showed great leadership potential. The day included:
- Icebreakers designed to help students feel comfortable and connect with others.
- Public-speaking exercises to build confidence and communication skills.
- Team-based challenges that encourage adaptability, collaboration, and decision-making under pressure.
- Problem-solving workshops focused on analysing issues, generating solutions, and working effectively in groups.
- A speaker panel featuring Kai and Jack from the Howick Local Board, discussing how meaningful community impact does not require a title or badge.

Careers Week
Thank you to the Careers Department who organised the annual Careers Week (8-12 June) – students had the opportunity to meet and learn from industry professionals and ex-students who shared their career pathways during the week, as well as attending the Eastern Schools Career Expo on 10 June.
