Regular attendance is one of the most important ways students stay connected to their learning. Being at school consistently helps them build strong routines, maintain friendships, and keep up with the progress of their class. Every day of learning supports their confidence, wellbeing, and long‑term success.
As part of the Ministry of Education’s Attendance Matters initiative, our school has set a target for every student to achieve at least 90% attendance. We’re pleased to see our Year 7 cohort leading the way, with just under 90% of students meeting this goal. At the same time, we know there is room for improvement in Year 9 and 10, where just over 75% of students are currently reaching the target.
At recent assemblies, we proudly acknowledged students who achieved 100% attendance for Term 1. A remarkable 366 students reached this milestone. Congratulations and well done to each of them for their outstanding commitment to learning.
As we move into the winter months of Term 2, we know that illness and seasonal ailments become more common. Please help our students look after themselves, stay healthy, and return to school as soon as they are well enough. Your support makes a real difference in helping every learner stay connected and thrive.
