Attendance Matters – Supporting Our Students to Thrive
Regular attendance remains one of the strongest predictors of student success. Each day at school builds on the last, and even small gaps can quickly add up, making it harder for students to keep pace with their learning.
At present, 83% of our students are attending 90% of the time. Our Year 7 cohort is performing strongly, with 93% of students attending regularly—a fantastic foundation for future success.
However, we do have concerns in the middle years. Both Year 9 and Year 10 have fallen below our target of 80% of students attending 90% of the time, and these year levels will be a key focus moving forward. Research consistently shows that attendance patterns formed in these years have a significant impact on future achievement and engagement.
Improving attendance is a shared responsibility. We appreciate the support of our families in ensuring students are at school, on time, and ready to learn each day. Together, we can help every young person build the habits they need to succeed.
