International News

International Pōwhiri and waiata welcomes new students to our school for term 3 and we farewell others.

New international students arriving to the school were officially welcomed with a pōwhiri earlier in the term and again throughout the term as we have had a number of short-term international students joining our whānau – thank you to our Kapa Haka group, teachers and students who led these wonderful welcomes.

For those students who were only with us a short time, they were also farewelled with a beautiful waiata and Mr. Bacon led the kapa haka group in an impressive haka to wish them well on their travels from our school.

Mr. Green thanked them and remarked on their bravery for coming abroad to a different school to experience new things. Ms Moore reiterated her pleasure to have the students and welcomed them all back to Sancta Maria College in the future, should they choose to return.  Thank you to all our kapa haka students and staff who made the farewell meaningful for everyone.

Thank you to all staff and students who have welcomed our international students into their classrooms over the last few weeks.
