Term 1 has been a busy and exciting one. In the Junior School – we had the Year 7 and 8, and Year 9 and 10 Swimming Sports Competition hosted on two separate days earlier in the term. Akaroa House came in the lead with their fantastic swimmers. Thank you to Miss McKell, Mrs Farmer and Mr Sholtz for their wonderful organisation. There was a great buzz amongst the junior school, and we hope this enthusiasm carries over to the Cross-Country competition next term.
In Term 2, the junior school will be going to see our school production ‘In the Heights’ for a matinee show in Week 2 at the Due Drop Centre in Manukau. This is a chance for our students to get a theatrical experience and enjoy the show with their cohort. More information about this trip will be sent out in the term break.
As the term is drawing to an end, we would like to remind our students to stay focused on their academic efforts and maintaining high standards when it comes to attendance, behaviour and attitude. We hope that students will have a wonderful and safe term break – ready for another exciting term of learning and achievement.
Please take note that there are many requests for students going on holiday during term time. This heavily impacts your child’s learning progress and their attendance. We request that students going away must complete any assessments before they leave and if parents could ensure holidays are kept during the term time, that would be most ideal.
Reports are being released on Friday 11 April. Please contact the Navigation teacher or classroom teacher if you have any queries. There are parent-teacher interviews being held on Thursday 1 May (Week 1) and parents can make a booking via School Bridge.
Blessings,
