Junior School Update

Kia ora whānau,

Term 3 has started with a roar as our Year 7 to 10 students have engaged in rich learning experiences and activities over the past few weeks. Students have been actively engaged in hands-on learning, cultural enrichment, and opportunities for personal growth.

St John in Schools Programme
Year 8 students participated in the St John in Schools sessions, where they gained valuable knowledge and practical skills in first aid, emergency response, and personal safety. These workshops empowered our ākonga with the confidence to act in critical situations, promoting responsibility and care for others.

Year 9 Shakespeare Experience
Our Year 9 cohort had the opportunity to watch a live performance of Romeo and Juliet. Experiencing Shakespeare on stage brought the text to life and deepened their understanding of character, language, and dramatic conventions.

MOTAT Visit
A visit to the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) gave our Year 8 students an exciting chance to explore innovation, science, and technology. Highlights included hands-on exhibits and workshops that linked to classroom learning in STEM and social sciences.

Auckland Museum Exploration
Year 7 students visited the Auckland War Memorial Museum, engaging with exhibitions that explored Aotearoa New Zealand’s history, te ao Māori, and global cultures. This was a fantastic opportunity to connect learning with real-world contexts and reflect on our collective heritage.

Year 10 Co-Requisite Exams in Reading, Writing and Math (CAAs)
We have communicated with our parents the upcoming CAAs which will be administered in Week 9 of this term Please support your ākonga to get prepared for these.

We’re incredibly proud of the engagement and enthusiasm shown by our students throughout the term. Thank you for your continued support in helping us provide rich and meaningful learning experiences for all.

Ngā mihi nui,
Reshmika Lal
