Congratulations to Chopstix and The Jazz Ducks who rocked the roof off at Rock Quest (Auckland Girl’s Grammar). Both groups had polished performances. Chopstix continued their success into the Manukau finals which saw Kaizer Wong receive the Best Musicianship Award on the night. We are very proud of all the musicians.
Congratulations also to our Senior Choir for their performances at The Big Sing earlier this year, in the Auckland Town Hall. They sang their hearts out and did themselves proud – they sounded fabulous.
Classics At 12 Concert
On the last Friday of Term 2, our Symphonia, Senior Choir, Jazz combos and Big Band round off the term with the closing concert of the Uxbridge Centre’s Classics At 12 concert season in Howick.
The concert gave the choir their first outing since their fine performance at The Big Sing.
The Big Band, Symphonia and Stage Band gave their sets for the upcoming KBB Festival a first major airing, whilst the jazz combos also used this to prepare themselves for the upcoming Auckland Schools’ Jazz Competition.
Term 3 is going to be very busy, so it is best to end this term in full readiness for all of the concerts ahead of us. Here is a timetable of the remaining Music events for 2024:
