Music Matters

Our final orchestral performance for the year was at Manukau Arena on Wednesday, 2 November at Play in South.

Sancta Maria College had 14 students, many of them beginners, playing violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet and percussion, who performed Rossini’s William Tell Overture and Strauss’ The Blue Danube as part of a multi-school concert with members of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO).  APO gave the players lots of mentoring during the time together which was invaluable to our new musicians. It was a great day for all concerned and helped our young players make real progress.

Thank you to all of the school who have supported our musical endeavours throughout 2022 – we can’t wait for 2023 to continue our superb performances.
