Choirs perform with the Auckland performance

Over sixty of our music students visited the Town Hall to see the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in concert, taking in such classic pieces as Ravel’s Bolero, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Bernstein’s West Side Story.

The concert’s grand finale was a performance of the Six60 song Kia Mau ki to Ukaipo (Don’t Forget Your Roots) which featured the APO, student Kapa Haka and a massed choir comprising of students from Westlake Boys College, Westlake Girls College, Long Bay College, Avondale College and our very own Sancta Maria College’s Senior Choir and Festival Choir.  Click the following link to listen to their performance at the Auckland Town Hall ChoirSinginginAPO_June2023

It was a wonderful moment and a great primer for our Senior Choir, who will return to the Town Hall on 20 June 2023 for The Big Sing.  More details on this and other events to come.
