Te Kapa Haka o Hato Maria
After our Year 13s performed for the last time at our Sancta Maria College Twilight Festival, it was time to begin senior farewells starting with kapa haka leavers. Kapa haka students had a shared hākari – feast to celebrate all their mahi throughout the year promoting Te Ao Māori through kapa haka. It was also an opportunity to acknowledge our senior leavers for their leadership, dedication and aroha along our journey.
Haka for Year 13 ākonga
This year was the first year our Year 7-12 ākonga gathered together to haka to farewell our Year 13 ākonga starting a new tradition for our kura. Performed with immense mana and emotion, it was a special moment that recognised all they have contributed during their time at Sancta Maria College.

Year 10 Te Reo Māori
To finish the term, our Year 10 Te Reo Māori class visited Metlifecare Highlands Village, sharing waiata, kōrero, and festive cheer with residents while proudly showcasing their learning.
