Principal’s Message

Tēnā koutou,

Welcome back to Term 3.

Below are some important dates for your calendar:

Week 1              Tuesday 21 July: Online Parent-Teacher Interviews 3.30pm – 6.30pm.

Interviews with your child’s teachers are online. Booking information was sent to you alongside your child’s report at the end of Term 2. Bookings close at 1pm on Monday 20 July.

Please note: The email address you book interviews with must be the same email address you use when you log-in to the online interviews on Tuesday evening.

Week 1              Friday 24 July: Twilight Cultural Festival. Starting at 4.30pm.

This is a showcase of our talented cultural groups at the school. Cultural and music performances will be in the auditorium this year (we will move to an outdoor summer event nearer the beginning of the year in 2027).

  • Please click this link for the evening timetable of events.
  • Food trucks will be selling international cuisine throughout the evening. Please click this link for food truck menus.

Week 7            Thursday 3 September – Staff only day.

All students will work from home on this day as teachers engage in a professional development workshop. Teachers will be upskilling their practice as we prepare for the new curriculum that is being introduced over the next two years.

Term 3 is particularly important for our senior students as they work towards their external examinations at the end of the year. Making the most of learning time by attending all lessons is the foundation of being well prepared for assessments. Regular attendance at school by all students continues to be our focus this year; a reminder that school starts at 8.40am (first bell) each day and that regular attendance (attending 90% of the time) is our expectation for all students at Sancta Maria College.

We look forward to seeing all our students back at school on Monday.

May faith be our compass.

Nga mihi,
Andrew Mackenzie
Principal
