Week 4 of Term 2 at Sancta Maria College was a week of camaraderie, and spirited activities centred around the theme of well-being! Our dynamic Well-being Prefects, Greer Sullivan and Raliemon Lopez, along with their dedicated committee, orchestrated a series of events that built excitement and togetherness. The festivities kicked off with a quirky yet delightful event where senior students, notably our prefects, bravely volunteered to have their faces smothered in cream – all for the noble cause of raising funds through gold coin donations. This messy spectacle was a hit and brought smiles to countless faces.
Wednesday saw an altruistic twist as many of our senior students volunteered to have their hair cut, with the boys shedding most of their locks and girls with long hair significantly reducing the length. This heartfelt act was part of the Shave for Cure campaign, with all proceeds going towards Cancer Research – a truly commendable effort.
Friday wrapped up the week with a vibrant Cross-Country event that was painted pink as we combined our Pink Shirt Day with our whole school Cross-Country! Our well-being prefects chose this hue to champion the anti-bullying cause, encouraging students to be “UPSTANDERS” rather than “BYSTANDERS”. The sight of pink-clad students circling around the campus and onto the adjoining roads was both inspiring and heartwarming.
We are incredibly proud of our students’ enthusiastic participation and their commitment to making a positive impact on the community. Here’s to more fun-filled and meaningful activities at Sancta Maria College!
