Week 5 saw the school holding its annual Enviro Week. The week started off with a prayer read by Mrs Krishna for staff…
There were a number of activities planned by our wonderful Kaitiakitanga Prefects – click this link to find what they were.
Wednesday’s Clothes Swap proved to be a hit with many students, who thoroughly enjoyed grabbing themselves a few choice pieces of clothing.
Warm Clothes Day on Thursday, where we turned off electricity to conserve energy, was another special day – warm soup was also served during lunch time. Thank you to everyone involved who made this a special week for the school.
If there are any environmentalists who would like to share their experiences with the kaitiaki group, please contact Mrs Al-Rubaie at j.al-rubaie@sanctamaria.school.nz

Finally, we are lucky to have six very special students in the school who freely gave their time to eradicate a noxious weed from our school grounds – they worked closely with our passionate environment staff and Pragna, the Flatbush Community Co-ordinator from Ōtara Waterways and Lake Trust. Thank you, team – you have made a world of difference in our little community. Click this link to find out more detail.
