Attendance Matters

Let’s Get Back on Track

At the end of Term 1, we were encouraged to see that 85% of our students were attending school at least 90% of the time. This reflects a strong commitment to learning and being present every day.

However, in the first two weeks of Term 2, this figure has dropped to 78%, which is disappointing. In particular, Year 10 and Year 12 attendance has been a key concern. These are critical years, and regular attendance is essential for building knowledge, maintaining momentum, and achieving success.

As we have consistently communicated, attendance is one of the most important factors influencing student achievement. Our school expectation is clear: all students should aim for a minimum attendance rate of 90%. Everyday matters — not just for assessments, but for learning, relationships, and staying connected to school life.

We also continue to rely on caregivers and families as partners in supporting attendance. Monitoring the weekly attendance emails and communicating promptly with the school about any attendance concerns makes a real difference.

Let’s work together to lift attendance back to where it should be. Being at school, on time, every day sets our students up for success — now and into the future.
