Kia ora families,
As we wrap up Term 1, I want to take a moment to reflect on what a wonderful start the international department have had this year! At the start of the term the lovely summer weather allowed us to take students to the beach, creating memorable experiences and fostering new friendships. It has been such a joy to welcome several students for their first term as well as short-term visitors and the group from Shinagawa Junior Girls High School.
During their time here some of the short-term visiting students were also able to experience a cultural opportunity by attending a session in learning about Māori bone carving. Our long-term students continue to thrive at Sancta Maria College, embracing both their studies and the vibrant school life.
We also said fond farewells to those short-term students who were with us during term 1 and we extend a heartfelt thank you for their stay with us.
As we approach the end of term and the Easter holiday, we wish all families, a wonderful time away from the school routine, and hope you enjoy the holiday period. I imagine that those students that are returning home to their families in their home countries, will have a very happy and memorable time together. Looking ahead, we have an exciting term planned, including a trip to Taupo and Rotorua that promises to be a fantastic experience for everyone. We can’t wait to see what’s in store!
Wishing you all a very happy and blessed Easter.
Ngā mihi,
Kendall Watson-Peach
Director of International Students.
