Sports Round Up

Term 3 has been an incredibly busy time for some of our sport teams and it marks the end of the winter season for most.

Winter Tournament (Upper North Island Secondary Schools’ Netball Tournament – UNISS)

In the end of August 2022, the Sancta Maria premier netball team participated in the annual upper north island secondary school netball tournament, also known as UNISS. They played 10 games over 5 days and put their all on the line to represent our school, families and team. This was such a significant tournament for the netball team this year as it was many of the girls first time attending UNISS due to COVID-19 interruptions over the past two years. This year, there was an estimated 115 teams attending UNISS, and the team, originally ranked in B grade, finished 24th.  We are very proud of these results – well done for all your hard work and perseverance! UNISS was a massive learning and bonding experience especially for many of the girls who will continue to grow and challenge themselves next year.
